Hello everyone! Hope your doing good as summer is here working with wool gets quite difficult so I like to switch to crocheting with thread as its easy to work with and there’s not much yarn on your lap keeps you cool and yet creates delicate works.
this summer I will share a series crochet projects made with thread.
today I would like to share this cute heart lace motif (vintage style) this is a very unique pattern.
you can use it as tablemat, coasters, dream catcher or just as embellishments to your tops, hand bags well you can just be creative.
From quite some time I was planning to design a long top with crochet embellishments I tried a few patterns but couldn’t get it right. After a few attempts found this vintage style crochet patterns and it was just the right motif for my top Im happy with how the motif turned out.
I will share some pictures of my top once its ready.
have written down the notes for you 😍 made it as simple as possible. Also Included step by step pictures too.
Before we get started
this pattern is just a motif an idea which you can build on and skill level is intermediate.
You might think there’s a lot of steps but keep going to create this beautiful piece. The first motif might take time but it gets easier from the second motif.
Description
This motif is worked from the center here a flower is created which is eventually shaped into a heart ❤ which is completed by giving it a petal shape border.
Materials required
Cotton thread size 10 for small motif
Size 20 for bigger motif
Steel crochet hook size 6 or (1.65mm)
Size of the motif depends on the thread and hook used.

Rows 6 and 7 are incomplete. Stops at mirror point. Continue pattern in reverse order.
Hi thanks for stopping by… Yes the pattern should be worked in reverse order
Stay tuned for more free patterns have a great day ahead 😄
Hi I love this vintage heart pattern but have a problem with row 5 the pattern says to repeat *chain 5,work cluster,,chain 5, sc in next chain 5 space and repeat around
Am I reading this wrong because the picture looks like there is a sc in the 5 dc group
Thank you
Hi Shirlee thank you for stopping by…. Well your not reading the pattern wrong….. There’s no sc in the 5 dc group…
You should make an sc only on the ch 5 space…
Hope this clarifies your doubt
Stay tuned for more free patterns they will be uploaded soon
Thank you, have a great day ahead
Thanks for your quick reply.
What is meant by row 6 and 7 in reverse order? Is row 6 supposed to be row 7 and vice versa/ or is the order of stitches different? I’d love to finally finish. Thanks
Hi Shirlee

Row 6…
I see the amended instructions but now I’m a little confused. Are there no more TRTR’s? Is this pattern for a complete row 6? Or do I have to write it out myself to complete the row?

Happy crocheting!!!
Is it not possible to edit the original post to revise the incorrect steps?? Very frustrated that I struggled to step 7 after frogging 4 times before getting to the comments and discovering the instructions weren’t correct.
My first project with thread was coming along beautifully until row 6-after comments I’m afraid to even look at 7! Even the revised row 6 instructions do not make sense- am I the only one?? Even the instructions that someone deciphered for you are not clear.
I’m struggling too. I figured out what was wrong with row 6 then read comments. However, if you look closely to the picture of the sample there’s an error in row 6. Looking at the upper right corner of (tr tr ch5) x4. There’s an extra “loop” there. It’s corrected in the next row by skipping over it but it looks busier and different than the left side.
Haven’t gotten to round 7.
Thank you so much for this pattern. I have been looking for days for a pattern for a heart motif than actually can be read. Even tho Row 6 had to be tweaked, I am delighted to find this. I am making sachet’s for my daughter in law. I plan to make two, fill the gaps in with silk ribbon to make them solid, and put 2 together. I am making them with lavender thread and I will put lavender oil on cotton and fill them. Thank you!
